Trying to get in Brianna’s head?
Zach Bryan hasn’t said much publicly about his breakup from Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia). The couple split up last month after dating for over a year, and since then Brianna has gone public with her allegations of cheating and emotional abuse, while even recently threatening to release videos of Zach “whipping shit at my head.”
Yeah, it’s been messy.
And this past weekend, things got even more awkward when Brianna attended UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden – and one of the fighters gave her ex-boyfriend a shoutout after his win.
UFC fighter David Onama scored a win over Roberto Romero by unanimous decision in the lightweight class. And during his octagon interview with Joe Rogan after the fight, he appeared to reveal that he was a fan of Zach Bryan:
“I want to come back here next month to watch the – what’s the – Zach Bryan concert, so I’ll be here for that.”
Well obviously the cameraman knew that Brianna was in the audience, and quickly found her looking less than amused at the shoutout to her ex-boyfriend in the midst of their messy breakup.
That cameraman is a legend.

But as it turns out, Onama says he’s not really a fan of Zach Bryan – and was actually asked by the singer’s team for the shoutout.
During an interview on SiriusXM’s Fight Nation, Onama laughingly explained his mention of Zach Bryan after the fight:
“My manager called…’Hey, Zach Bryan is here, and he wants you to give him a shoutout.’ To be honest I didn’t know who Zach Bryan was.”
The hosts joked that the whole thing was like a “paid advertisement” for Zach, and the fighter confirmed:
“Exactly. That’s literally what it was.”
Interesting…
Well as it turns out Onama might not be a Zach Bryan fan, but he does listen to at least one country artist: Morgan Wallen.
Of course Zach may not be happy to hear that, after Brianna claimed that he once got mad at her over singing Morgan’s song “Last Night” in their house. According to Brianna:
“One morning, we were out the night before, and one morning I woke up and I was scrolling TikTok, and ‘Last night, we let the liquor talk,’ was stuck in my head.
And I walk up the stairs in the New York apartment, and I’m singing, I’m about to make breakfast or something like that… he freaked the f*** out. Like, freaked the f*** out. He could not believe, ‘You’re singing another man’s song under my roof, in this house, that I own.’ It was a fight for, I think, a week. It’s a Morgan Wallen song. I don’t know…”
But apparently Onama is a fan:
“I’ve listened to Morgan Wallen…
I’m a big fan of Morgan Wallen. I just didn’t really know much about Zach Bryan.”
Yikes…not a great look if it’s true that Zach’s team asked for a shoutout just to rub it in Brianna’s face. But then again, he hasn’t told his side of the relationship yet, so maybe this was just their way of reminding her that there are two sides to every story.
