Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Special Ops: Lioness’ Picked Up For Second Season

The treadmill never stops for Taylor Sheridan.

The mind behind Yellowstone has firmly planted himself atop the list of show-makers actors are clamoring to work with due to the success his series have had in recent years.

While Sheridan had a solid career up to 2018, having written Hell Or Highwater and Sicario and acting in Sons Of Anarchy, undeniably it was Yellowstone that took him to new heights and birthed an entire ecosystem of prequels, spinoffs, and sequels, including 1883 and 1923, which are available to stream now on Paramount+.

But Sheridan wasn’t afraid to spread his wings and take on storylines outside of the modern day wild west, as proven his perpetually underrated Mayor Of Kingstown and the topic at hand today, Special Ops: Lioness.

Starring Zoe Saldana, Laysla De Oliveira, Morgan Freeman, and Dave Annable, Lioness centers around a CIA operative named Joe who tries to balance work and personal life while on the frontlines of her agency’s war on terror. While it may not have received  the same fanfare as some of his other shows, there’s no denying that people loved it, scoring an 80% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Well, it was just announced today that the series was being picked up for a second season, which is yet another feather in Sheridan’s hat.

Season 1 is currently streaming on Paramount+ and if you haven’t watched it yet, you can secure a 7 day free trial by clicking HERE.

Admittedly, I haven’t watched this one yet because I’ve been so wrapped up in his other shows, but now knowing it’s going to be around for a little while long, I’m excited to dive on in.

The Taylor Sheridan empire shows no signs of slowing down.
