The cover we NEEDED.

Kelly Clarkson did her former stepmother-in-Law, Reba McEntire, more than justice with this gorgeous rendition of “Till You Love Me,” which she performed on her daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show today.

The song was written by Bob DiPiero and Gary Burr, and released in October 1994 as the third single from Reba’s Read My Mind album. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, and became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching #78.

And of course, Kelly is known to cover the heck outta some country pretty often on her show, but this might be the best one yet.

You don’t need me to tell you that Kelly is an incredible vocalist, and the rare kind who can sing pretty much and song in any genre and absolutely crush it… and this proves that once again. Obviously, I’d love to even just get an entire country covers album from the Texas native, but even a single studio recording of “Till You Love Me” would be incredible.

It’s a good old fashioned sad country song about heartbreak and wanting someone who doesn’t want you back, and Kelly slayed this in every way possible. She kept the production pretty sparse and simple, allowing her stunning vocals to shine.

You can feel every bit of this the way she delivered it, and I can’t recommend checking it out highly enough:
