Riley Green Shares Acoustic Video Of “Worst Way,” But A Purse In The Background Has Hearts Breaking Everywhere

There is a lot to unpack in this video…

Riley Green, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO US? Late last night, Green took to Instagram to share an acoustic take of his latest single, “Worst Way.” The sultry track highlights his dynamic songwriting (quite a different tune from “I Wish Grandpas Never Died”), but also the unplugged jam highlights his silky smooth vocals.

If the lyrics alone of “Worst Way” don’t leave you hot and bothered, the song’s living room performance will. As Green belts the steamy lyrics with a slight smirk, he knows he is breaking hearts while singing this track.

“I want you in the worst way, my hands are needin’ your hips
Want the first taste of whiskey to be off your lips
So close all the blinds, lock all the doors
Put away anything that’ll break
Baby, I need you tonight
Let’s see how much love we can make
I want you in the worst way…”

The video’s caption is the perfect way to remind fans that his new EP, Way Out Here, drops this Friday. However, while most are stoked about hearing the rest of the tracklist, one aspect of the video has sent internet sleuths into a spiral.

A purse handle is visible in the background of the video. The whole purse flashes momentarily as he says to the tune, leaving the impression that he might have filmed this at a lady friend’s house. The comments quickly filled up with heartbroken women, and it’s commentary gold.

Check out some of the comments.

“I’m happily married, but that purse broke my heart a little.”

“The purse in the back be breakin’ lots of hearts, RG.”

“Pookie, whose purse is that.”

“Riley, you can’t do this to us. We aren’t ready.”

“OH…”

“Is this the soft launch before the hard launch with that purse?”

Regardless of who the purse belongs to, I am ready to blare some new RG tomorrow.
