The Best Memes & Reactions From Morgan Wallen’s (Newest) Arrest In Nashville

In case you’ve somehow missed it, Morgan Wallen was arrested last night for throwing a chair off the top of Eric Church’s new bar Chief’s in downtown Nashville.

According to News Channel 5, the chair landed just a few feet away from some police officers on the street below, who took him into custody when waitstaff and security footage confirmed it was Wallen who tossed the chair from the sixth floor rooftop bar.

He was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon/reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $15,250, which he seems to have posted late last night before leaving the police station.

Obviously, this isn’t a good look for the biggest star in country music. It’s not his first run in with the law either and certainly not his first scape with controversy.

He was arrested back in 2020 for breaking a glass in Kid Rock’s bar and was a mainstay in the news cycle for his antics on Alabama’s campus during COVID and for his use of a racial slur outside of his house in 2021.

John Rich made a public statement where he hoped Wallen would find better mentors to avoid situations like this, which can quickly derail any artist’s career.

Truly, I do hope Morgan can figure this out because there seems to be all the pieces in place of another statistic of a career ruined by no guide rails, lots of drinking, and the problems of stardom.

But I also have to admit, the internet has been having a field day with this one and some of the memes and videos posted have me laughing out loud…

Here’s some of my favorites.

And finally, just some good old fashioned Tweets (or posts or whatever)

The internet is again doing what it does best.

Hopefully Morgan can clean up his act, because if he’s not careful, he can lose it all in the blink of an eye…

Of course, pretty soon he’ll have his own bar in downtown Nashville to get kicked out of.

Morgan recently announced that his new bar, This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen, is coming to Lower Broadway in downtown Nashville, Tennessee this summer.

The venue will be a bar, restaurant and live music concept, which is being brought to life by Morgan along with TC Restaurant Group, which currently operates several artist-themed bars on Broadway, including Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge, and Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa.

Morgan says the name was inspired by his song “This Bar,” and he hopes to bring some of his East Tennessee roots to Music City through the menu and music:

“I sing about finding myself in ‘this bar’ and now it’s coming to life. This venue will hold true to everything I love and is inspired by my fans and the way they have embraced me and my music.

We’re designing a menu around some of my family favorites, so it brings a piece of East Tennessee to Music City. I hope This Bar is a place you’ll want to find yourself in and make memories with your friends and family and celebrate the way country music has brought us all together.”

As speculated, the building sits on 4th Avenue adjacent to the historic Ryman Auditorium, which is just off Broadway in the heart of Music City. It will be approximately 30,000 square feet and feature three live music stages, six bars and an open-air rooftop.

The menu will be curated by Wallen with Chef Tomasz Wosiak, Vice President of Culinary Development for TC Restaurant Group, and feature southern delicacies, in addition to some of Mama Wallen’s own recipes.

Adam Hesler, President at TC Restaurant Group, says:

“Morgan Wallen is one of the most sought after stars in the music industry, and we are thrilled that he has trusted us to deliver a concept that will bring him closer to his fans, hold fast to his roots and enshrine his name among an exclusive group of artists who can claim international stardom with a Lower Broadway destination fans all over the world seek out.”

You can check out video of the bare-bones building below, and while no exact opening date has been set yet, they’re hoping to be up and running by this summer.
